TWN welcomes Abigail Schneider, Director of the JCMP and Joi Brown, Marketing Manager with the BRCI to tell about Jefferson County's efforts with the JCMP.

In April 2018, the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) opened a groundbreaking memorial in Montgomery dedicated to African American victims of racial terror lynchings called the National Memorial for Peace and Justice. The memorial contains monuments corresponding to over 800 counties where racial terror lynchings occurred with each county having a duplicate monument. EJI has invited each county to retrieve their county’s monument and take the lead in facilitating a local reckoning.
